 Objective: New York State, through the 2007-2008 State Budget, is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to utilize, subject to availability of funds, approximately $7.32 million in Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) resources to support Community Service Projects (CSPs) through Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Services (APPS).

 Community Action Angels

As you know Pat Standish is looking to reach her goal of 1,000 backpacks to distribute to children affected by the June floods.  Here is a link to contact information for that effort: http://www.nyscaaonline.org/AngelAction_20060811.htm   Lindy Glennon from CAPCO is hosting a rally to fill the backpacks on August 30th with more information to follow as we get closer.  Let’s help the Community Action Angels reach their goal!

 Restore NY

In   the   2006-07  enacted  New  York  State  Budget,  Empire State Development  Corporation  (ESDC)  received  a $300 million appropriation to implement  the  Restore  NY  Communities  Initiative  or  the "Restore  NY Initiative"  to  help revitalize neighborhoods, and leverage private sector investment as a means to retain and attract residents and businesses.  Earlier this week, Evelyn Harris distributed a copy of the press release regarding this funding.  Here is a link for the full press release for your reference: http://www.ny.gov/governor/press/06/0811061.html
