The New York State Community Action Association is dedicated to the professional development of its membership. To this end, NYSCAA’s IT department seeks to offer training tracks that meet the needs of all agency personnel, front-line, management and executive staff.

At conferences IT sessions geared toward senior management might include: Creating an Information Technology Department, Information Technology Trends, Managing Information Technology Resources, Developing an Information Technology Budget.

NYSCAA’s IT department participates in frequent smaller, regional trainings for front-line workers.

These trainings focus on teaching skills critical in today’s data driven office, including the Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook, as well as basic computer skills.

NYSCAA IT supports

The New York State Community Action Association endeavors to support its membership with an extensive portfolio of resources and expertise.

NYSCAA’s IT department provides technical support to membership with a help desk that can be accessed through the internet at http://hq.nyscaaonline.org/helpdesk.

Here assistance may be requested for any technical problem from desktop and application support to advanced network issues.

Electronic Data Management

The New York Community Action Association in partnership with the Department of State is working to develop an electronic data gathering system.

The advantages of an electronic system include simplification of data entry, improved accuracy, and an eased ability to access and analyze the data.

NYSCAA advocates to secure funding streams in support of Community Action causes and to effect public policy. The power of compelling data cannot be underestimated in this process.
