Earned Income Tax Credit ( EITC )

Earned Income Tax Credit. The federal Department of Health and Human Services/Office of Community Services (OCS) recently awarded the New York State Community Action Association (NYSCAA) with a three-year grant aimed at increasing the number of individuals receiving the Earned Income Tax Credit, as well as connecting individuals to financial education that leads to asset formation. The Helping Hands Tool-Kit. The Helping Hands Tool-Kit contains comprehensive information on a broad range of tax credits and community programs that can assist you in your work with struggling families. The Tool-Kit outlines and explains the benefits, eligibility guidelines
and points of contact for a host of tax credits and community programs that can help working families stretch their hard-earned paychecks by offsetting expenses of necessities such as health care, child care, utilities, and food.
